Read about the impact of The One Box including the program’s latest achievements and updates from our partners and beneficiaries.
Every Australian should be able to access fresh and nutritious produce. The One Box aims to address a real need within communities, where many families struggle to afford to put enough good food on the table. The program is a helping hand to those families experiencing hardship, providing them with a free weekly box of seasonal fresh fruit, vegetables, milk and bread.
In 2020, The One Box continued to deliver our much-needed fresh food relief boxes during COVID-19 and is one of the only charities that is able to consistently offer fresh, high-quality fruit and vegetables to those accessing the program. The resilience of our program allowed us to partner with 19 new schools across southeast Melbourne, Geelong, Central Coast and Wollongong in the second half of the year. This boosted our weekly reach to 1,300 families, representing 40,000 boxes of fresh produce and staples donated in 2020.
A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at our partner schools and community hubs that worked tirelessly to enable us to continue our deliveries during COVID-19. Without their dedication and commitment, The One Box would not reach the families that need it. Also, our heartfelt thanks to our donors, supporters and corporate partners for your ongoing support of the program.
