As families head back to school, The One Box is back up and running, delivering fresh food boxes to families in need across Australia. Rising food and education prices continue to strain households experiencing hardship, leaving schools to call upon charities for more support. With over 70 schools on The One Box’s waitlist, our very own Program Manager, Emily Wild speaks about the severity of food insecurity on 9 News.
Food security is essential for children’s school participation and attendance, health and wellbeing, behaviour and academic outcomes. In 2024, we will continue to partner with over 100 schools to distribute fresh nutritious food to families experiencing hardship Australia-wide.
“We know that many parents are under financial pressure and have to make tough choices about what to put in their children’s lunch boxes. We want to make it easier for them to provide their kids with fresh and nutritious food that will support their growth, development and learning,”
– Martin Halphen, The One Box CEO
